Nothing is Going to Slow Us Down!

We are pleased to show off the perimeter fencing your contributions made possible as part of our infrastructure campaign in 2022. Despite the after effects of COVID and all the issues associated with labor and the supply chain, we had your support and the funds in place when the materials were finally available. Again, due to contributors like you, we were able to schedule the laborers and complete the installation at the end of January this year.

The installation was necessary to assist us with security for the wonderful E-Learning Center and renovated kitchen and all of the supplies needed to be kept secure to educate and feed the youth and young adults in our community.

Sometimes fences give the appearance of closing off a resource, but we've received a very positive response from the greater community of Richmond who felt that because the Centre is a huge benefit to the youth, it needed to be better protected. We needed better access control in terms of who may frequent the Centre when we are not open to the community and this has been a major contributor to safeguarding our resources and making sure we have security in the evenings.

6 Unemployed Youth Labored & Taught New Skills

The contractor we hired engaged six unemployed youth from our community. They installed 45 posts in concrete in the ground as well as two pedestrian gates and one sliding vehicular gate. Amazingly this was all completed in just 10 days!
