Bikers Heading to Richmond!
Greetings Friends of Hope in South Africa!
We are thrilled to share the bios of our July 2025 travelers. Our team, led by three Rotarians is departing in just two weeks! They are all excited to participate as ambassadors and volunteers for Rotary and Hope in South Africa. The trip consists of a series of stops with our partners in the Bikes for the World project, our Community Center in Richmond and culminates with a bike race.
So far we have already moved EIGHT shipping containers with more than 4,000 bikes to South African communities as part of this inspired Rotary effort!
We are looking forward to seeing how our Gear Up for Good efforts and much-needed infrastructure initiatives are progressing and reporting back about it. We are especially excited to see the progress our Rotary partners in Colesburg and Richmond have made on their bicycle activity areas.
We'll be training community members in both towns as bicycle mechanics, as well as teaching children and adults the safety, upkeep and responsibility of two-wheeled vehicle ownership, all while developing the joy of cycling with bike trail construction and participating in a single track bike race.
We have teams here and in South Africa that have been training for the race and would love your help to support them!
Get to know our cycling travelers (they are flying over!) and if you are feeling inspired like us, take a look at our Amazon Wish List and let us bring much needed bike tools and repair kits to our newest cycling friends!
You can also use the QR code below to see what our cyclists and newly minted bike mechanics in South Africa need. The package will go directly to Jonathan's front porch for staging. We will be packing bags in one week (July 20th), so pick something out today that we can bring along and support this fantstic effort.
We'll share more details about each of our initiatives upon our traveler's return.
If you haven't already, become a part of Gear Up for Good in 2025!
As always, we appreciate your investment in our work.
